The Grapevine Backpackers is conveniently located only a short walk from the Marlborough regions’ main township of Blenheim, which is re-known for being the sunniest place in New Zealand.
Comprising of two separate and fully self-contained properties The Grapevine offers several communal areas for guests to relax and socialise in. A purpose-built BBQ deck overlooks native bush and the tranquil Opawa River and is a great spot to meet people from all around the world, sip on some local wine, be entertained by the birdlife or enjoy a stunning evening sunset.
We offer comfortable and secure backpacker accommodation for budget conscious travellers and great weekly rates for working backpackers requiring longer-term accommodation.
The Grapevine has long-established working relationships with several seasonal employers, contractors and local employment agencies, thus enabling us to source a large number of backpacker jobs through-out the entire year. Our experienced staff are able to source a variety of work opportunities meaning you are not limited to only vineyard work.
We do all the hard work by arranging the jobs for you – this is what makes us Blenheim’s Premier Working Hostel !
The Marlborough region is best known for its world class Sauvignon Blanc wine. There are several bike hire and mini-van options to choose from in order to visit some of the 30+ winery cellar doors. There are many mountain biking and walking trails to be found in the nearby Wither Hills, or for those wanting to explore the river our canoes are also a very popular choice of activity.
